My last name means "goldfinch" in Polish, but the spelling scares people, so I stuck with Goldfinch Photography as my brand name. If you're wondering, the last name is Szczygiel. Try typing THAT in your search bar.

I genuinely enjoy capturing moments on camera. Always have. I was that kid in high school who whipped her digital camera out when the moment seemed worth remembering and not much has changed in my photo taking approach. I understood early on that life is fleeting, and all that we will have someday to show for it are our photographs. I sincerely believe that I was placed here to help people look good, feel good, and have something tangible to look back on. I find that being a photographer comes with great responsibility, and I would very much enjoy seeing some of your photographs and hearing the stories that come with them. Even further, I would be honored to be able to capture them for you.

My approach documenting your day is  to capture as many candid and organic moments that I can. Of course, we will sprinkle in some pretty and posed photos, but I aim to witness your day, not narrate it.

I currently live in Charleston, SC, but have bopped around quite a bit. I've lived in Connecticut, NYC, and overseas- and I've been to 49 states. Can you guess which one I have left to see? I used to work for CBS media as well as Hearst Magazines, but realized quickly that I enjoy photography at my own pace. I've photographed several weddings in all kinds of environments, so I am prepared get the right shot in any scenario.
